About
Hi, I’m Grace! I’m a master’s student in Human Development Counseling at Vanderbilt University, completing the dual track in both school and clinical counseling. My interest in counseling began with my own experiences and the questions they raised about how people heal, make meaning, and learn to care for themselves. That curiosity led me to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Kennesaw State University and has continued to shape the way I show up with clients today. Before graduate school, I worked in community mental health in Atlanta, supporting families, children, and youth in foster care and juvenile detention. I also volunteered as a crisis counselor with Crisis Text Line. These early experiences showed me how deeply trauma, identity, and environment shape a person’s story, and they taught me the importance of having someone sit with you in moments of fear, overwhelm, or uncertainty. They continue to guide the way I show up with clients and the kind of space I hope to create in therapy. I’m passionate about supporting those who are carrying difficult experiences, whether those show up as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or a sense of feeling stuck or disconnected. I’m especially committed to creating affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients. I also welcome clients who are exploring the ways coping patterns can develop in response to stress or overwhelming experiences, including when those patterns begin to feel unhelpful or confusing. One belief I return to often is that identity is not something separate from therapy. It is woven into how we heal, how we connect, and how we make sense of our experiences. Our histories, relationships, and the ways we have learned to cope all shape the way we move through the world. I want therapy to feel like a place to land, a space where you can bring your full story without needing to shrink it, soften it, or make it easier for someone else to understand.
