About
Hi, I’m Amilya! I am a master’s student at Belmont University studying clinical mental health counseling and pastoral therapy. I cherish the opportunity to build a collaborative, genuine relationship where your whole self is accepted and embraced. With authenticity, empathy, and humor, my goal is to help you discover who you are and uncover what anchors you in an ever-changing world. While I am particularly drawn to DBT, ACT, and parts work (IFS), the foundation of my practice is deeply relational and person-centered. As a queer, neurodivergent woman of color who has spent much of her life in religious spaces, I am dedicated to creating affirmative spaces and helping you define values that lead to a meaningful life. I know what it means to navigate environments where you are labeled as "other" or forced to conceal parts of your identity. My hope is to co-create a space where you feel safe and brave enough to move from surviving to flourishing. I am also deeply passionate about women’s health issues, including perinatal and postpartum depression, PMDD, and PCOS. I understand how the unpredictable nature of our bodies can bring up confusion, shame, guilt, and grief. Whatever diagnosis or struggle you are facing, I am here to support you in making sense of yourself and honoring your experience, no matter how messy, complicated, or heavy it feels. Even if just for a moment, I offer to hold the weight of your world so you can simply exist. The process of therapy can feel overwhelming, so I will always walk alongside you at a pace that feels right for you. You are welcome exactly as you are, and it would be an honor to be part of your healing journey.
